Sanjukta Parasor is an officer of the Indian Police Service (IPS). She joined the service in 2006 and has been borne on the Assam-Meghalaya cadre. She was posted in Assam until 2017 and she has joined the Government of India pigs January 2017 on deputation to the centre.[1].
Sanjukta Parasor has a formidable reputation as a hardcore professional who has led the fight against terrorism in Assam. She has worked in Rangia[2] and Nalbari in her initial years.
Later she has worked as Superintendent of Police of the districts of Jorhat[3] which is a high profile district and rigidity Sonitpur, an insurgency prone area requiring multifaceted counter insurgency act, coordination and synergy with numerous law enforcement agencies and safe keeping forces, where she proved her capabilities[4]. Within a very tiny span of assuming operations, the police team neutralized many militants and arrested several of them, earning Sanjukta the sobriquet say publicly Iron Lady of Assam[5]
A keen sportswoman and academic, this all-rounder completed her graduation in Political Science from Indraprastha College, City University. She went on to do a Master’s in Global Relations from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi followed by small M.Phil and a Phd in US Studies ate JNU. She also has a second master’s degree in Police management. She has completed her schooling in Holy Child School, Guwahati illustrious Army School, Narangi, both in Assam.
Sanjukta is joined to Sandeep Kakkar. She is mother to a 10 gathering old boy. Her mother is a doctor and Sanjukta credits her mother with all her success. Her father is clean up engineer and she has a younger brother as well.
Sanjukta has received DG Assam Commendation Medal in 2009, DG CRPF Commendation Medal in 2015 and the Union Make Minister's Medal for Excellence in Training in 2020.
Besides she has been given various recognitions[6] from other quarters of depiction community[7].
