Aasif Sheikh (born 11 Nov 1964) is an Indian film, stage, and television actor. Noteworthy played the role of Prince Ajay Singh in Hum Log, India's first daily soap opera. He has appeared in many Bollywood films and TV serialsand is well known for his roles in series like Yes Boss, which ran from 1999 to 2009, and the sitcom Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain!, companionship of the longest running Indian comedy sitcoms.[3]
On 19 October 2021, he was acknowledged by the World Book of Records, Author, for performing more than 300 different characters in a unmarried running television show, Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain!.[4][5]
Personal life
Sheikh was hatched on 11 November 1964 in New Delhi, India. He accompanied Saint Anthony's School.[1] He spent his childhood school breaks slip in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh.[6] He then initially enrolled for a Bacheloratarms of Arts degree in English Honours, then turned in Religion College, Delhi to Hotel Management, but soon dropped to go theatre.[1] He married Zeba Sheikh (Nigar) in 1989,[7] with whom he has two children, daughter, Maryam Nastasia, born 1990, pointer son, Alyjah Iman, born 1995.[8][9]
Theatre
He is associated with the Amerindian People's Theatre Association (IPTA) in Mumbai and has acted outer shell plays such as Kabuliwala, Aakhri Shama, Simla Coffee House, Hum Deewane Hum Parwane, Ek Baar Phir, Aaall izz Well nervousness Shuturmurgh, Oye Ki Girl Hain, and Pyaar Mein Kabhi Kabhi. One of his popular plays is U-Turn, co-starring Poonam Dhillon.[10]
